I thought I was prepared for when Chris leaves on deployment....

I was prepared for him leaving on May 21st....

However, I was not prepared for Wednesday to be my last night to see him.

I will know this afternoon if I get to see him again.... or if December will be the next time I get to see him.

It's been a rough week with waiting on the damn Military to make up their *&%$'ing minds!

It's amazing

How one little issue can destroy a friendship!

I am now down one friend, and this upsets me to no ends. I have been there for her WHENEVER she needed me, and after one misunderstanding she drops me like I meant nothing to her.

I don't know if you all remember awhile ago I posted something about people knowing about their insurance.

Well so called friend, brought her daughter into our office to get her cleaning done. She recently just signed up her daughter for her insurance. I got her information, so called friend said that she was eligible that day she was signed up.

I gave the information to the finance lady, in my office. She went online and couldn't pull her up, so we were like okay they just haven't updated there systems yet.

Well about three weeks ago, so called friend calls the office and said that insurance denied her daughters cleaning because she wasn't covered, and received a bill from the office for $350.

I told her to call her insurance since so called friend was told the insurance kicked in that day she signed her daughter up.

She called me back and said I called them, and they said she wasn't eligible until March 1st, and that if you all would have called you all would have known.

I said don't worry about it, I will handle the bill. She says should I talk to the lady in finance, and I told her no, that I would just take care of it.

That it would just turn into a pissing contest if she spoke with the finance lady because, she will just say it's not our responsibility to know your insurance, so therefore it's your bill that you owe.

I get a test message from her husband the following day, saying that they shouldn't be responsible for the bill.

I again told him not to worry about it, that I would take care of it.

And he responded with "I don't need someone to pay my fucking bills!" If my daughter wasn't covered then we clearly wouldn't have brought her in, in the first place.

I told him I was just going off the information his wife gave us.

So needless to say, I text her once before I went to New York, and said I didn't want her to be mad at me. And I didn't hear anything back.

Until today that is..... when I received a text that said this....

so called friend: If u wouldnt mind getting together the clothes u have of mine 3 things imparticicular.. my green sweat pants... short short sleeve purple t.neck and 3/4 sleeve cream sweater. I know I have a shirt of yours & if u know of anything else let me know & I will find it.

Me: Yeah, sure. I think it's a little ridiculous that your not speaking to me.

so called friend: K thanx & I think how u handled everything was ridiculous! So whats ur point?

Me: How did I handle it? By saying I would take care of it? Because I knew how the finance lady would react? And what do you know.. i told you it would be a pissing contest if you spoke to her. Thats why I said I would take care of it. I would have just rather left it at that and still be friends. (she called the office while I was in New York)

so called friend: Im not sure what finance lady said happened, but it was no pissing match. we both screwed up & that was the bottom line! I didnt think it was fair that i had to be responsible for the whole bill when ur office didnt follow through either! That was it!

Me: I told you I would take care of it! I don't like conflict so thats why I said I would just pay it.

so called friend: She had no business making it personal btwn u & me! b.c we were friends should of been more of a reason to deal w/it fairly btwn u & me! But you wanted to act childish & react how you did! ( i still don't know how I reacted???)

so called friend: CARRIE I GOT ANOTHER BILL WHILE U WERE AWAY THAT SAID PAYMENT DUE NOW!!!! so I called! & i don't need u to pay my fucking bill! THANX!

Me: How did I react? And I can see how important our friendship was! Cool.

so called friend: Yea that feeling is very much mutual! COOL!

And that was that.

I am too old to be dealing with the shit.

I am starting to take a good look at all my friends and finding out which ones are good and which ones are hazardous.

weekend recap.... almost a week late..

So Friday night, I wasn't planning on going out, but Chris decided that we should go grab a cocktail or two.

Lets just say, we had a blast that night! It was probably because we had a gorgeous night and the bar is right by the marina.

We don't go out much anymore, because it seems like every time we go out it's lame and not at all, fun. But that definitely wasn't the case.

And like a dummy, I of course didn't take any pictures that night! Booo.... I know I suck.

Saturday, we had a duel birthday party for Mark and Jamie.
They rented a Party Bus so we didn't have to drink and drive

Here I am giving some love to Christopher.

And we went to Mexican for dinner... then hit the town.

The loser listed above is just that.... a LOSER. It's a long story... and maybe one day I will share the loser-ness of him. But for now... that's all you need to know L O S E R ~K~!

After the night was over, the Party Bus was taking us back to our car at the restaurant and only a street away we had just missed a HORRIFIC accident. And a body laying the the street. The police and ambulance were already there, but we still saw the lifeless body. =(
It is something I hope to never see again.
It makes me glad to know that I am always the D.D when we go out!
Sunday, was spent be completely lazy and not doing much, which was VERY nice.
This weekend Chris and I are headed up to Maryland for a softball tournament.
Happy Hump Day everyone!

New York Minute

Beware: Tons of pictures

As much as I am glad to be back in the V to the A, I wish I was still on vacation.

I am waiting for the day that I can take a permy-vacation and not have to worry about going to work after the weekends.

The first day in NY we got to babysit Chris' niece Bailey, we figured no reason for her to go to the babysitter when weren't doing anything.

Plus I thought it would be a GREAT "learning" experience for Chris... although it didn't surprise me how good he was with her.

We ended up going shopping at the outlets.

Here is little Miss Bailey striking a pose (I think she was just excited to get out of her stroller).

I posted a while back at how horrible I am at bowling.... well this time I actually didn't do to bad. I actually almost broke 100! (hey, it beats the 43 I had last time!) Everyone else though.... was not on their "A" game..Chris and his mom normally bowl in the 200's.

This portrait is a painting on a brick wall outside a bar in the town where Chris is from. I thought it was pretty cool that his Grandfather was one of the people in the painting.

We were super pumped about going to the Mets game... Chris' best friend Gus and his wife Heather were suppose to come down from PA to join us, they had a terrible thing happen the day before they were suppose to come down Heather ended up having a miscarriage, and was scheduled for surgery that Saturday. =(

Here is Chris with two of his old High school buddies Fletcher and Smitty. They had tickets to the game as well, so we drove with them.

I was so glad that it ended up being a nice day when we went.

A little VA love for our local ball player D. Wright in the house!

Fletcher, may or may not have a gambling problem.. so his "Hostess" in Atlantic City hooked us up with VIP seats, and a sky box as well.

This is where we were suppose to sit. Still good seats, but who would pass up a chance to sit in the 2nd row??
So 4 tickets pretty much went to waste that day.

Chris and his boys again!
Although I didn't get a picture of it, I did get a foul ball! The little shits sitting behind me got the first one when it tipped off my fingers.
I of course pouted.... ended up getting the ball boy to toss me another foul ball, Chris stiff armed me and shoved me out of the way so I wouldn't lose it this time.. he two handed it and caught it! =) It was quite comical, since Fletcher and Smitty were trying to go for it too. After I re-composed myself from Chris stiff arming me, we noticed Smitty had spilled his WHOLE cocktail all over 2 of the teens sitting behind us! They were cool about it though. =)

This picture is out of order, but this is Julia Stiles throwing the first ball.

Another view of our seats before the game started.

A view from the Box seats.

This picture was suppose to be first, but I got a little click happy. =)

A few days later we went into the CITY.....

Chris and I in Time Square doing the typical tourist pose.

I love all the bright lights and big billboards. I told Chris when we hit Mega Million I was going to buy a loft apartment on 5th ave. =) (Stay tuned.. I will keep you all informed so that way you can visit.)

How cute is this Easter Bunny with an egg on its nose?

Rockefeller Center

People were still Ice Skating

St. Patrick Cathedral

Chris then took me to eat dinner at one of his favorite places.. Alfredo.

Chris LOVES there apple martini's here, I of course had to be different and try their Italian Lemonade, which was delicious.
I was a little disappointed on the service we had. The waiter kinda seemed like he didn't want to serve us, and gave the table with the older couple next to us better service then us. Stupid dummy didn't even give us a run down of the specials they had!

And then it was time to go catch Mary Poppins. I LOVED the play... although again I was a little disappointed because there were a lot of parts that didn't really fit with the movie.
Side note: Ummm... Chris and his sister have never seen the movie Mary Poppins!!! Can you believe that!
ENTER SUPER SAD FACE HERE ----->_______ I didn't get the chance to meet up with lovely Mrs.Summer. =( Chris & I were really bummed.
BEWARE JAWS BELOW!

I decided to cook dinner one night for Chris' family, his sister took us to Uncle Giuseppe's Italian Marketplace (If you live in NY have you ever been???)
UMMMM.... it was AMAZING, I wish we had one back here!
Everything looked so delicious, we could have spent hours and tons of mulla in there.

And last but not least....

I got to go see my old childhood home in Eastmeadow! =)
So there you have it..... little snippets of my NY vaca for you.
Chris' Mother (she adores moi) has invited me to come up whenever I want while Chris is out to sea.... so I may be back soon!
And I will def. be flying in not driving I can tell you that!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Mental Vacation

I've been on it for the past week!

Two more days and I will be outta here! I won't be returning to my place of employment until the 19th!!! HOLLA

***

I hope everyone had a fantastic EASTER weekend..

Friday night.. we started off with having some people over and ended up playing beer pong... ummmm.... we lost (I won't say how many times.).

Saturday... we were up at the butt crack of dawn (5:30 am) to head out of town for Christopher's softball tournament.

It was so nice out.. I got a little burnt.. and I am still paying for it today.

Ended up spending 3 hours in the ER about 6:00 that evening, Chris's team mate Matty who was staying with us for the weekend ended up dislocating his should (for the 4th time).

~I do have video of this ER visit and as soon as I figure out how to put it up, I will. =)

We get out of the ER about 9:00, head back to the softball fields and Matt decides since he was still hopped up on drugs that he would play in the last game.
We finally got home about 1:00 am.

Sunday.... After being lazy sloths we finally got our bums up and motivated and went Citrus
for brunch.

We headed over to my Dads house to play cornhole and hangout, we ordered pizza watched part of the Yankee & Red Sox's game...

decided I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and had to go home and get into bed. I was in bed by 10:30 and passed out.

And today I am kicking myself for just not taking off the whole week, because it's gorgeous out and I am stuck inside. =(

Happy Monday everyone!
