They closed all the schools in the area.....

And we haven't even had one speck of a flurry...

Hopefully it will be after 1 since I am getting off early to "Paint". =)

baby it's cold outside...

A site that is REALLY unusual for Virginia Beach.... SnOw! And it's still coming down hard... so maybe..... HOPEFULLY... the roads will get bad and we can go home early (that's not likely, but worth hoping for).

Plus I have a very important date at the hospital to go see my Godson who will hopefully be here in a few hours!! As of 10'o-clock last night one of my best friends was admitted to the hospital for the awaiting arrival of her son. 7:30 this morning, she was 9 centimeters. I am still waiting to get the update on if he has arrived or not.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday... I am really not.. but between the Snow and my godson arriving today.. those are the only things that are making me happy.

Guess what lucky girl is getting her grill piece off tomorrow??? ME!!! I am so excited, I can't wait for tomorrow!

Not only am I excited for that... but also Chris will be home in 11 days and a wake up!

Busy Busy Busy..... Beeeeeeee

In about 20 days.. this lucky guy will be home... and on the sweet land instead of the sea.

Which is putting me in panic/stress mode, because I have a BUNCH of stuff still yet to do!!!

Lets take a look shall we...... And see why I have been MIA from blogger... and everything else.

This wallpaper crap is for the birds..... I can't finish this side until the bathroom is done, because that's the designated area for the bathroom stuff. And you see all those dark spots on the wall where the wallpaper is down?? That's all the left over glue that I have to scrub off. FUN??? notsomuch!

On to the next project......

I only have a few touch ups to do on the top... and then I will wait until the spring to actually put up the new screen... figure it's already in the 30's some days here and we aren't going to be hangout outside until spring anyways so that can wait.


Next...

Another pain in the butt project..... but only because I had to peel nasty 1960's wallpaper down in here too... and ALSO scrub down the walls (see above picture for details). I am picking up the vanity today... I can't wait to have a bathroom that is fully functional again.

And my new love..... I love the push button.. the only thing I don't like about the new throne is that the seat and lid are plastic... which those will be getting changed out to porcelain sometime soon.
I am loving the new tile in the bathroom....

Here is a project that originally wasn't on the list of things to do..... I re-painted the living room/ den. I am in love with this chocolate brown color.

Another view of the living room... still need to find some pictures/ art work to put up there.. I have something in mind.. so hopefully I can get around to doing that as well.

The other side of the living room/ den... along with my little fake tree. It works for now... when Chris and I get our own place... We will be getting a real one, and hopefully much bigger.

I still would like to add in some feathers here in the topper ... that way it softens it up a little bit.

And this is what I did last night, after I took a break from scrubbing the glue on the bathroom walls... helped my friend decorate her MAC DADDY Christmas Tree! I am so jealous of her tree... I can't wait to have a real one.

Alright... so there is it is.... that's what I have been doing lately.

I'm exhausted... worn out and sick of wallpaper!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

Yes, I know it's early to be posting this... but hell I already decorated for Christmas with the little bit of stuff that I have. So I figured.. I am already ahead with that might as well skip to the New Year.

1.) Seriously start on my savings

2.) Send Birthday and Anniversary cards

3.) Stop eating out as much.. and bring my lunch to work

4.) Cook more


Those shouldn't be to hard to accomplish.

Now that Chris will be home in 27 DAYS!! I won't have to cook for one anymore (which is seriously kinda hard).

I've been busy busy busy on the bachelor pad. This past weekend I recruited my sister and friend to come over and help out.

I got a wild hair up my butt and decided that current living room color (light blue) wasn't cutting it anymore and decided to paint it a chocolate brown color. And I must say.... it looks two thousand times better then it did before. I painted that on Friday night... and then painted below the chair mold the same color as the hallway so that way I have some sorta flow-age of color through the house.

Saturday the girls came over and since it was in the low 70's I figured we should start outside that way all outside projects are done before it gets freezing. We ripped the old screen off the back porch and got to work painting the beams white...and the ceiling a light aqua color, my friend Danielle's husband came over and removed the old nasty 1970's outdoor fan and replaced it with a new white pretty fan.

Saturday night my sister, my niece and friends daughter stayed the night with me.. and we put up my Christmas tree and got it all decorated. Now if only Chris' roommate would keep all of his crap out of the living room and quit junking up the pretty room.

Tonight I plan on painting the foyer and maybe the dining room... after that it's back to peeling wallpaper in the bedroom (yes, I am still tackling that project!). =(

almost that time......

23 days until my God Son Jonathan McDonald Moulton a.k.a Jack is due to make his appearance. I can not wait to squish him! And I know that I will be getting baby fever after he arrives.

And

And a little over 30 days until my LOVAH boy gets home from his 7 month deployment! ACCCCKKKKK.... I can not wait. I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to get everything done.

I have 4 projects started and have yet to finish any of them... and I still have two more that need to get done.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I hope after all my projects I will be back to normal and actually blog consistently rather then once a month.

Why is it that some people in work places think that they are more "important" then others??

I lost a friendship over one of my co-workers over look on an insurance issue, and one that she felt no need to write off.

But when her daughters baby daddy comes in he gets his cleaning for free.... and has an ass load of cavities ... and when I say ass load, I mean ASS LOAD $2000 worth of fillings.

So baby daddy come in today to get one of his fillings done, on my daily sheet of payment it has down that "co-worker paying", and when I go to check him out it posts, and says NO CHARGE DISCOUNT. W.T.F!!!! He isn't a family member........ I am sorry he is a dead beat who just got out of prison and is worthless.

I am so tired of other people getting special treatment, just because she feels like she has been here for years that she deserves it.

April will mark my 5 year anniversary here.. and I have only received one pay raise! I am thankful to have a job don't get me wrong.. but I am at that point now to where I am coming to work, do what I get paid to do and that's it. I'm not going above and beyond, when nobody does that for me.

Happy Birthday!

HaPpY 5th BiRtHdAy to my niece Skylar Reese! It's amazing at 5 years old how she can have a love/hate relationship with me. There are days when she is ALL about me, and then there are days when she wants NOTHING to do with me. And although I didn't birth her.. everyone always calls her my mini me, which makes me love her even more!

In other news.. I can't believe it's been 14 days since my last post! I've been working my booty off try to get the bachelor pad in order.

I have 2.5 projects started and still have two more to go before my Babes gets home in 55 days! The master bathroom (Chris' bathroom) has been gutted.. everything is out except for the tub/shower. The tile is laid and will hopefully be finished tonight! And the new toilet and vanity will be here on Friday. In between the tile and installing the new goods, I will continue peeling the horrible grandma wallpaper that I so carelessly painted over not once, but twice!

And if this rain would ever stop... maybe I could finish painting the trim outside before it gets to cold to do it. Right now the outside looks like a color wheel... a little bit of sage green... a little bit of country blue... Americana red... cream and off white.

Miss Bananas, yes I did paint the cabinets white... actually I need to put a coat of glossy white on it. I did semi gloss and I think I want them a little bit glossier. And not only that the roomie is seriously messy when he cooks so I figured it will be easier to wipe off too.

Pictures to come soon! (I misplaced my BOTH camera chargers (don't ask how), ended up locating one of them at my girlfriends house and then forgot to grab it before I left!!)

70 days until my studly man gets home!

I have so much crap still left to do before he gets home.
Which is why I am hoping that it ends up being nice on Friday, because I would really like to paint the front of the house (trim and shutters)
AND
Possibly get the screened in porch re-painted and a new fan for out there.

And next weekend I hope to get the bathroom re-done.. get rid of that nasty linoleum and put tile down, new bathroom vanity and top and new toilet (which I am kinda excited about.. because it has a push button to flush... soft press for "liquids" hard press for "solids"). Also re-painting the bathroom and bedroom.

If I can get this all done before he gets home... I will be amazed. But I am going to bust my buttocks and try really hard.

Truly Outrageous

My Halloween costume has been picked out. I am really showing my age with this one here, but I wanted something different and not just the skanky costumes that I am used to getting. Soooo.... Jem it is.
Can't be that hard to replicate... pink wrap dress... the silver fringed belt... glittery tights.. and heels. Oh, and lets not forget the pink hair.
I am however concerned with the make up. I don't know how truly outrageous this look is going to look on me!


In other news... I am going camping AGAIN this weekend. Should be good times, but I am ready for a weekend of being completely lazy with no plans at all.

Also, I would love to give a BIG thank you for Mrs. Chrystal for letting me come invade her home in Alabama for the weekend. I had a blast with you and the family and can't wait to come visit again! =) Love ya gurl frand! We of course were having way to much fun and didn't take a lot of pictures. And I didn't have my camera's because some how I lost BOTH chargers for them (don't ask how that happens.).

How are you going to advertise that cute A$$ tan poncho on the VMA's, just to find out the following day that NO H&M store near me has them anymore... sold out in a week! I did however find a store in Virginia that is hmm... IDK 4 -5 hours away that had a ton, but they aren't even able to ship them to me, even when I offered to pay for shipping!

tonight is the night.... the night that good ole' Earl is suppose to "hit "us. I will be taking Layla down to the beach tonight to get some snap shots of her to send to her Daddy, since this will be her first Hurricane.

I still need to go get ice and water today... and pick up some lanterns from my Dads house.

Our last "MAJOR" hurricane was in 2003. Her name was Isabel. And although she was a huge storm, she was only a Category 2 when she made land fall. We still ended up getting rocked.

We did make the best of it... swimming in the pool..... letting the wind carry us down the street on the skate boards... playing board games. All in all it was a good time. Even when my sister -n-law (at the time) and I thought it would be a good idea to take the Jeep out to see the damages in the neighborhood, and ended up getting stuck in the mud.

And even though our damages weren't nearly as extensive as Katrina's damage... we were without electricity for 6 days.. no water except the bottles that we had... and pretty much stuck inside the house due to roads being closed/blocked and curfews.

Keeping my fingers crossed the we keep on the projected path of just a skim.

So today after work, I will be joining all the CrAzIeS at the stores picking up supplies. Wish me luck!

I was also suppose to go to the beach and get some photo's of Layla and I, but it started getting dark to quick, so it was a no go. I still need to reschedule that shoot.


This past weekend my girlfriend Cat and I went camping and tubing down the James River. We ended up actually going with a big group (about 115 people), and I must say it was a BLAST! We are already looking forward to the trip next year with the same group, as well as getting our group of friends together to go.

Note to self: When going camping make sure you...

A.) Leave at a decent time and not show up at 10:30 pm to set up camp.

B.) Check behind your stupid roommate to make sure he put the tent poles back in the bag.

If your wondering about "B" yes, we were those girls that, had NO tent poles for the condo tent that I had. Long story short. Chris' stupid roommate re-packed the tent back up from last time we went camping, and apparently he didn't feel the need to put the poles with the tent.

Thank goodness Cats friend was meeting us there, and I told him to bring a tent, just to be on the safe side.

It's been....

83 days (12 weeks) since he has been gone. And only about 131 more days to go (18 weeks) as long as everything stays on track. Keep your fingers crossed.

Maybe I'm just stubborn....

Last week I had dinner with my dear friend from high school Sarah and her husband Mike. Sarah and Mike are expecting their first child (a son) in December and I couldn't be more excited for them! They are going to be wonderful parents to baby "Raul". Ever since the day everyone found out about baby "Raul", Mikes sister has been pressuring them about being the God Mother. Well, during dinner that night, they asked if I would like to be the God Mother. My first reaction was "ARE YOU TRYING TO GET ME MURDERED?"(because seriously... I don't think his sister is going to take it well AT ALL.) But then I said I would be honored! I adore Mike and Sarah to pieces.

So shortly after asking me to be the God Mother, Mike mentions that he has volunteered me, their friend Amy and Mikes Mother to do the baby shower. Which is totally cool with me, I love organizing parties and everything.

The next day you better believe that I was on Hostess with the Mostess to start looking up shower ideas. I send the links to Mike and Amy to get their opinions.

Me: I checked my email, and I haven't received anything yet, but I will keep it up so I can look at it when it comes through.

I've hung out with Amy before... she lives in B.F.E North Carolina (seriously people the sticks) so I really don't see her that often. She is a really sweet girl, but I have a feeling that she is going to try to take over the whole shower process. Which I can tell you is going to annoy the shit out of me.

I haven't responded back to her text yet... and I don't really know if I want too. Is that mean?

Only for the these reasons

#1. Ummm... hello! I emailed her 3 days ago about a French themed shower and never heard back from her...

#2. I'm getting the feeling that she is going to try to take credit for the French themed idea... when all in all lets face it.. I mentioned it first soooooo... really it was my idea. (yes, I know that was bratty)

#3. Call me crazy.. but I have a feeling she is going to be really annoying and try to take charge of everything. And if that's the case, I am going to talk to Mike and let him know that I will be more then happy to help set up and get whatever is needed, but I am not going to help plan it if she isn't going to be open to anyone else' s ideas.



Am I being stubborn? I mean I am all in for working together with everyone, I just don't want it to become... well "I want this...." or "I don't think this...." or "I don't like this..." type crap.

CSN review.....

The ever so thoughtful people over at the CSN stores contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing a product review for them. And me being the kind person that I am, decided not to hurt their feelings and accept.

I am sure by now everyone has heard of the CSN stores. Well if you haven't your missing out! Point blank! CSN has over 200 stores with everything you could ever imagine.

And then we come to people like me..... who is in the process of revamping the boyfriends bachelor pad! So for my review I picked out these pretty little sconces, to hang up in my bathroom that's getting remodeled....... WAIT... let me correct that.... mean in Chris' bathroom I'm remodeling.

The picture of this sconce DOES NOT do it justice at all... they are even more gorgeous in person. And I love the brushed nickel, and the way the light reflects off the marbleized glass.

CSN always gets your items out to you fast and timely manner. Everything was nice and secure and very well packed when I received my shipment.

And as soon as I locate my USB cord for my camera..(that I have so conveniently misplaced AGAIN!) I will post pictures of them in full use. =)
