It's Snowing!!! For once the weather people were actually right!!!

My sister, nephew and niece stayed the night with me last night... so this morning when my nephew woke up at 6 am we awoke to a blanket of white!
6 am and Layla's first time in the snow! She loves it!

Layla whining at the bedroom door to go back outside.... She has not stopped doing this since 6 this morning! She's like a kid.

Virginia Beach NEVER gets snow..... and I mean NEVER (well not really... but the last time we had a big snow storm here I was in middle school (over 15yrs ago) and my sister and I took pictures out in the snow with our bikini's on... yes I know classy!)

Last three times they called for snow here they cancelled schools and closed some places of business just to get smacked in the face with sun shine all day! (it gets a little ridic. over here at the beach when snow talk is in the air.)

I on the other hand am EXCITED about it! Because that means I don't have to feel totally guilty about being a complete sloth all weekend! =) Thank goodness I have extra fire wood stocked up. Now I just need to go to the store to pick up some food products and I will be A-Okay!

is this day over yet...

O.M.G.. today is going by so slow! And on top of it co-workers are being super buggy today, and to be honest I can't really take it mentally!

I will admit it .. I woke up in a pretty foul mood this morning!

And even though I don't have kids.. I feel like a single parent with two dogs! (I hope I have more patience when I have a child.)

With Chris being gone I feel like I am super rushed in the morning having to get myself ready.... letting the dogs out... feeding the dogs... doing a quick run through to make sure everything is picked up around the house and then letting them back out again!

Layla for some reason WILL NOT go #2 for me in the morning at all! (my serious face is on when I say this folks.) And it's not like she just goes outside on her own.... no no no that's to easy. She has to have someone go out there with her, or else she just stands inside the screened in porch.

She never gives Chris this problem at all. Chris thinks it because she feels rushed when I take her out, which is probably true. But I don't feel like standing out in the pouring down rain or in the freezing cold while I watch her do her business!

Not only that Chris smokes, so when he takes her out he also has a reason to go out.

I am just ready for the day to be over!

Friday:

Spent pretty much all day at Home Depot buying stuff to start "re-doing" Christopher's kitchen. Let's just say... it's a work in progress! Hopefully I will have before & after pictures soon! =)

Saturday:

Every year in January, Virginia holds what they call restaurant week!
This past week was Virginia Beach's turn. There is a list of certain restaurants that participate and they all have three course meals for $20 - $25 dollars!

So I met two of my girlfriends here... I love trying new places..

I ended up getting the lime chicken skewers for my appetizer.... the grilled salmon with spinach for my entree and vanilla creme brulee for dessert! It was all amazing! Including the Jelly Bean Martini that I had! I think I am going to take Chris there for Valentines Day!

Sunday:


It was 65 degrees out, so my sister and I took the kids to go to the Science Museum. They had a blast... so here are just a few of the pictures that I took while we were there! =)

Don't ask about why my nephew is doing the Vanna White pose, apparently that is his new signature move when the camera goes off!

Dear Mr. Stouffer's Man

Recently I purchased two of these lovely items. The picture on the outside makes it look oh so yummy and scrumptious.....

That is until I opened up the package and was shocked to see only 4 small pieces of chicken on the inside! WTF..... I was uber hungry so I of course ate it anyways (not that it would have held me back from eating it).

But then today, I opened my other purchase the delicious Chicken Alfredo with broccoli and again I was disappointed! This time there were only 3 small pieces of Chicken!

I mean what does a sister have to do to get some chicken in her flat bread sandwich? Please fix this problem ASAP! Please & Thank you.

On a different note........

Chris emailed me last night and told me that his PTS FINALLY got approved!

Which means he gets to reenlist come July and will not be booted! =)

So once again he will be studying his ass off for the 1st class exam come March! =)

Stupid Wednesdays.... and VaCa planning

This morning started off... a little crappy I must say!

I got to work early because I had to finish some stuff up from Tuesday, I get to work about 7:15 and realize that the office key is in my coat pocket in the office kitchen!

(Yeah... it was so nice out yesterday afternoon that I forgot to grab my coat as I was leaving.)

And then of course I have to deal with shitty rude patients on the phone! I mean seriously people it's bright and early in the morning, what could have pissed you off so bad that you are already grouchy at 8:30???

The day luckily is getting better! THANK GAWD!

I'm going to amuse you all with a conversation that went on between Chris and I...

So yesterday afternoon Chris rings me at work and the convo. goes like this...

C: Babe you have a list of stuff to do when you get off work
C: Wait what time are you getting off work?
Me: When ever you come and pick me up (long story)
Me: So what does this list consist of?
C: We need to go to Target, but we aren't going to spend forever in there! In and out.. I just have to get a few things... (he hates the fact that I can spend 3+ hours in Target just walking around... which is probably why I always spend $100+ every time I go there)
Me: Okay
C: Baby (Layla) has a Doctors appointment @ 4:30
Me: Okay
C: You need to help me pack (wow.... can we say needy?)
Me: Really... you don't know how to pack?
C: Finish laundry (He has gotten use to me just being over there and doing his chores! Plus when I do laundry it smells WAY better!)
Me: Whens the last time you actually had to do laundry?
C: And we need to get dinner! (now he's talking)
Me: Cool... where are you taking me?
C: Otani's (Japanese Hibachi Steak House)

Chris comes and picks me up, and we are chit chatting and he brings up that he wants to go on vacation AGAIN! (We just went to Jamaica this past June mind you!)

Which this is totally fine with me, I am always down to go on vacation somewhere, but he is getting ready to go out to sea soon for 10 months! And they don't even have a set date yet because the damn Military keep changing it! So I can't really plan anything.

I told him that when he gets back in Feb 2011 I will have something planned.

At first he mentioned something about going on a cruise with a group of friends... (but I doubt our flaky friends would be in to doing something like that)... which would be fine, but I don't think he would want to spend another week on a boat considering he was just on one for 10 months? IDK call me crazy.. but that's just me!

Then he mentioned something about Costa Rica..... Anybody have any input on this place of paradise??

Anyone have any good suggestions?

Ohhh... how I wish I had a full picture of Chris's 1970's kitchen! You all would be HORRIFIED!


Chris and one of his roommates (the one I can't stand who is in the gray shirt posted in the picture below) will be leaving tomorrow morning to go back out to sea for 16 days.


I figured since I will be staying at the house come April for 10 months while they are on their "cruise" that it needed to girl-ified it a little bit. =)

Take a look at that gold linoleum! And you see that nasty color on the upper wall back there??? Yeah it's wallpaper painted over.

I don't have a picture of the awkward light fixtures that aren't centered so you all are saved there!

Although I will not be replacing the lovely linoleum during this time period, I will however be painting the cabinets white. (And maybe work on peeling the wallpaper off )

I've been wanting to do this FOR-EVER and as I was browsing through one of my daily stops Young House Love, I went into their "How To" section and found this inspiration picture.

I am hoping that Chris's cabinets come out looking like this.

Can you believe those cabinets are painted! I've already volunteered my sister to help with the big project as well!

That was yesterdays post on my facebook.... I was going for the JETS!

Actually I would like anyone except for the Colts!

Weekend Recap.... a lil bit of venting aka bitching....

Thursday not so great of a day...actually it wasn't to bad. I just get in certain moods. Which yes, I know those aren't great! I have a HUGE trust issue, which dates towards the end of my marriage. This is one of my many flaws that I have and one that I am not proud of!

I would like to think that I am slowly moving past this issue, but I am not going to lie there are days when it's really hard. And Thursday just happened to be one of those days!

Let me start off by saying that I seriously DON'T MIND at all when Chris goes out with the boys!

I do however have issues when he doesn't tell me (is this a little crazy since we aren't married/engaged?)! Or when he decides to go out on bad nights... like for example the night before Thanksgiving when I had to do ALL the cooking and he nor his roommates offered to help me at least prepare anything.... or Christmas Eve Eve when we still had tons a presents to wrap for the get together at my Dads house on Christmas Eve!

Well Thursday afternoon after I got off work, my sister and I went to my place to start packing up my stuff to move it into storage, and I swung by Chris's house to pick up my keys that were in his car... he of course is napping from his "hard" day at work... he wakes up and I told him that I just came to get my keys out of his car and that I would be back in a little bit to pick up my laptop since I was staying at my moms that night.

So he says (half asleep mind you) you can just take it now..... so I said eww.. nasty, whats the rush? He says nothing is the rush, so I tell him that I will be back later because I don't want it sitting out in the cold car (we only live a street away from each other). My sister and I get done packing some stuff up and I swing back by his house to get my laptop and his car is gone. I walk inside and let his other roommate know it was just me. His roommate asks if I know where the boys are (Chris and their other roommate). My reply was NOPE!

So later on towards the night.. I did the mature thing and sent Chris a little nasty gram. =) We text back and forth and I am still fuming...

Friday comes around Chris has duty so I don't really hear from him.

Saturday comes around I get done babysitting and I swing by his house and tell him I need to pick up my phone charger because my phone was about to die. I go over pick it up, and I am on a mission just to go in get it and walk back out (I told you how mature I was didn't I?). Well I thought I was being quiet, but I guess I wasn't that quiet... here comes Chris down the hallway with his goofy ass grin, and I with my stink face on. He asked what was wrong and I told him I didn't like him acting like a Shady McShaderson blah blah blah... he apologized.... he called me crazy... and told me I have nothing to worry about.

I hate when I get in these moods with him, because Chris is such an easy going guy, and I literally feel like I'm crazy when I get like this!

It's like I have to keep repeating to myself OVER & OVER again that Chris is not my ex-husband.. and to have a little trust in him!

Do I sound crazy to you gals?

Anyhoo....

Saturday Night we went and had drinks with our friend Doug ... who had a "Get out of the House" pass from his wife.

Sunday: Chris and I went and had brunch at a little cafe down the street called "The Wicked Sisters Cafe" and then we watched football after that.

I got bored with the game and decided that since it was so gorgeous out (70 degrees) I went to run some errands. I ended up at the devil a.k.a Target to pick up somethings... $130 later! I swear I can never walk out of that place without spending $100! (It's not even a Super Target) But I did purchase this really cute tube top dress that is reversible (black with white polka dots on one side and a floral print on the other side)

Came back home finished watching the Cowbabies get whooped out (THANK GAWD) and watched the Jets and Chargers game. (I am hoping for a New Orleans vs Vikings Superbowl)

After the game, Chris and I met up with my Mom and Sister at the movie theater to go see Avatar in 3D @ 9:45. I am super tired this morning, since we didn't get out of the movie until quarter to 1!

My rating for Avatar would be C+. Everyone that we talked to hyped it up so much and I was really kind of disappointed. Not that it wasn't good, but it wasn't fantastic either.

Not only that I was pretty much doing touch and goes the last 45 mins of the movie! =(

Thuriday..... yay!

Last night Chris and I were invited by our friends Dan & Cat to join them at a hockey game.

We went and saw .... vs.
I posted the pictures backwards and didn't feel like changing them.. we were cheering on the Admirals. It was a tied game and then in the last 3 seconds we scored for the win 4-3!

It was a fun night. I hadn't been to a hockey game since my junior year of high school..... which lets just say was many-a-years ago!

breath of fresh air...

I am super excited!

After 2 years of my W-2 forms being screwed (thanks to an incompetent former employee who is no longer here) and only receiving $300 each year instead of over $1000 that I am use too. I am FINALLY back on track! And boy lemme tell you it feels GREAT!

Not that I am going to see any of that money, because it is going straight to my credit card! (yes, I know! I get an at'ta girl for being so responsible)

My 1st Resolution for the New Year to be debt free is only a month and a half away! And I am already starting to feel a great deal of relief!


Chris's shoulder is doing semi better. Thank you for all the well wishes for him! Just F.Y.I he is a big baby... how much could it possibly hurt to have a 2ND degree sprain?? (which he has) I mean seriously... suck it up buttercup!

Yesterday, afternoon he called to give me the results from the Doctor about his shoulder and he starts it off like this...

C: Well looks like I broke my shoulder

Me: What?

C: Yeah, the Doctor said I broke it, and I will be in a sling or 6 to 8 weeks

Me: Oh, babe I'm so sorry

C: So it looks like you'll have to wipe my booty when I use the restroom!

Me: Ummm... okay!

C: Just kidding babe, It's sprained... she taped me up real good I have to go back in three weeks to see her.

Me: Good cause I really wasn't looking forward to wiping your ass... I mean I would if it came down to it, but I wasn't looking forward to it.

Snowshoe Recap

As I type this little blog... Chris is staring at himself in the mirror trying to see if he dislocated his shoulder from his "awesome snowboarding skills"! Ha ha ha ha..... and I'm not kidding.. he totally is. More on that later.



We had a great time even if it was freezing outside.

So going on about Chris and his dislocated shoulder.... Chris is literally good at EVERYTHING.. (my serious face is on when I say that too) so for him to hurt his shoulder in the trick park is a BIG ego crusher for him!

Poor thing only had 8 runs in when he hurt his shoulder, so I think he was a little upset that he didn't get to spend the whole day on the slopes like he had planned.

This is what happened in his words...

"Babe I was doing so well.. I landed the trick 5 times before I hurt myself... I jumped up on the box and my board caught the end of it, and it through me off a little bit. But when I landed my shoulder caught my fall and I felt something pop out and then pop back in."

My response to him.....

1.) your name isn't Shawn White! 2.) your not 21 anymore crusty! 3.) apparently your not that nasty at boarding! =)

He only had a probably with the 3rd answer I gave him! =)

busy weekend

So tomorrrow this lovely lady one of my besties Courtney.... Will be graduating from the Virginia State Trooper Academy! =) She's been away in Richmond for a year and FINALLY the day has come to where she will offically be a State Trooper! Congratualtions Courtney, I am VERY proud of you!

So tomorrow I will be getting up at the butt crack of dawn to travel 2 hours to Richmond for her 8 o'clock a.m. graduation! (seriously who holds graduation at 8 am?)

Just to turn around to travel 2 hours back, pick up Chris to head North/West for a 6 hour car ride to Snowshoe!

Alls I gots'ta say is..... my ass is going to be sore from driving/sitting all day in the car!

Motivational words from my sister and boyfriend

Last night while chit chatting with my Christopher and sister last night, I mentioned .. okay not really mentioned, but told him that I wanted a gym membership for either Valentines Day or my Birthday.
(But now thinking about it... I don't want to wait for a month or two.. I want it now)

I suuriously....... need to lose some weight.

And as I mentioned before, it is one of my NYE Resolutions (along with a billion other people).

I am sad to say that I need to lose a whopping 25 lbs. (And that's not just being harsh on myself.. that's gods honest truth)

So after Chris lecturing me about what I need to do when I go to the gym... blah blah blah.... what not to eat.... blah blah blah..... and how to burn the calories blah blah blah.....

I think I finally got it through his head that I was serious. And when he asked why (like he is oblivious to the cottage cheese on my legs, or my cafeteria lady arms (no offense if any of you work in a cafeteria))

Me: well.... ummm .... because I've gained 20lbs

C: you got a little to comfortable didn't you....

Me: thanks dick

My sister: can you see Carrie at the gym?! Chris wanna make a bet? I say she will only go 3 times!

C: I don't need to bet, cause I am sure that's what will happen!

Me: thanks you two.... both of you are dicks!

So I think that little NON - MOTIVATIONAL reassurance from both my boyfriend and my sister, makes me want to work even harder at it!

I WILL lose 15 lbs before my 30th Birthday on MARCH 9th!
